The Other Countdown

It's been more than a decade since my hair has been as long as it was on my wedding day. It looked beautiful all pinned and curled, but let me tell you, I hated living with it day to day. It doesn't really look good long - sort of scraggly, lifeless, and unflattering to my face. The last few weeks, I've given up completely and had a ponytail everyday. It was miserable.

But today, my friends, was the last day I shall ponytail.


Today marks a newlywed's rite of passage for me: The PWC. Post Wedding Chop. The Wife Cut.

And it is amaaaaaaaazing.


Seven inches later, I feel sooooooooo much better.

I feel like I am back to my old self. Back to normal. And it feels so healthy!

I've been looking forward to this just about as much as the wedding, and it was so worth the wait!

Today is the day!

612 days later, just a few short hours I will be walking down the aisle on my Daddy-O's arm, ready to promise myself to Kenny. It's been such a long process, but I am so happy to be here. I feel so lucky and so loved.

Kenny - I love you. I can't wait to marry you. I will be promising you to have and to hold, but I will also make a few others

I promise to laugh at your silly jokes.
I promise to make you waffles and cupcakes whenever you want.
I promise to check whenever you ask "hey what's this?"
I promise to not make you spend all your money on me everytime we go to the mall.
I promise to take Tucker out at night.
I promise to put laundry away and do dishes.
I promise to watch football games with you and not ask dumb questions.

But really, I promise to love you forever. I can't wait to be your wife.

Licensed to Wed!

The state of Illinois is ready for us to enter into our legal and binding state tomorrow. It was the last thing we needed.

We took a carload of stuff to the venue - all the escort cards, photobooth props, votive candles, table names ... All of the sweat equity of the last two years. It was a HUGE sense of relief to drop it all off. We are officially done planning and all that's left to do is get married.

The rest is up to the Universe at this point. Time to sit back and have fun!

Coinkydink

Man vs Food is re-running the Springfield episode tonight!  We'll be having horseshoes in a few days for our rehearsal!  How funny is that?

In other news,  it's been a hectic week.  I am finishing projects and running around in a general state of frenzy.  I was really hoping to be able to recap all my DIY and final details before the wedding, but it looks like it will have to wait!  At least I'll have something to blog about while we're waiting for our pro pics to come in!
